How small the world really is
I should have posted this awhile ago. Oh well. When we moved into our new house, we didn't know anyone up here. We didn't have the instant friends that we did in school. For me personally I don't like telling people what Shawn does, because the instant I do, they get a look like oh she is a doctor's wife, they must be rich. Anything from the truth, hehe. Anyways, me and the kids when to a Santa breakfast that our ward did (interesting because in my home ward and growing up we always had a dinner with Santa). I met Lacey there who was also from Wyoming. So we started talking and she commented that she had a roommate at college who was from Lyman. Wow, small world. Then she said that it was Jenn Cottrell. GASP!!! That is Shawn's older sister. Needless to say, it was a shock for both of us. I was talking to Shawn about it that it seems like everywhere we go, someone knows someone from the Bridger Valley (where we grew up). Then he said, well it is probably because no one wants to stay there and they scatter all over the country. Very true! But it is really nice to know Lacey and be able to have my kids play with her kids and just get used to the new area.

Christmas Shirts from Grandma & Grandpa Cottrell
Christmas
Having Christmas at our own house, was alot of fun, stress, and excitement. I was fortunate enough to have all of my family come to my house this year. Chloe and Austin were so excited to be around so many people. Later Kevin, Rebecca, and Jadeyn came and had dinner with us. I am just so grateful, to have such wonderful, loving people in my life.
Shawn's Baby
Ever since I have been married to Shawn, he has dreamed of his home theater room for our house. Well he got it. He decided that instead of paying Best Buy to come and install it, he would. It took all day Christmas Eve. But at least it is done. It is really strange to have to move your head to watch all of the action of the tv.
Shawn's 27th Birthday
I try hard every year to get Shawn a present that he hasn't guessed or found by the time his birthday rolls around. And something that isn't connected to Christmas, since his b-day is so close. This year I successed. I bought him Phantom of the Opera tickets for March. He had no idea. Yipee! I bought two tickets, hoping that I could use one. The stinker said, I wonder who I am going to take to it? Grrr! Then he said, of course you. The other gift is from my sister. On the jar it says, Ashes of Problem Patients. Hehe. He has had a few of those.Instead of a traditional cake, I decided to make Shawn homemade brownies. The cocoa won the fight. It was very pressurized and blew up on me when I opened it. Everyone asked me (after they were done laughing) if the cocoa we had brought from Oregon. Nope, bought it at the grocery store down the street. It just didn't like me.
Gosh, 27!!! You don't have to lie to patients anymore about your age.
